Is drinking distilled water better for body cleansing and dieting?

someone told me that last weekIs drinking distilled water better for body cleansing and dieting?
Water is water, the idea that bottled water is better for you is not true.

You can filter your local water if you are worried about things being in it but it is not any better to buy distilled water. Is drinking distilled water better for body cleansing and dieting?
I would say dont do it. A distiller will remove all mineral content from the water - leaving pure H2O. This sounds ideal, until you realise that your body will then begin to take mineral content that it needs from itself (ie your bones). Extended use will reduce bone mass. Not good.

Drink filtered water or tap water.
Distilled water is lacking in essential minerals. There really is nothing wrong with plain old tap water in spite of what the bottled water industry is telling us.
My advise. Read up on what is distill water.

There are many proponent to distill water.. and the other side too.

I have no problem in drinking distill water, cos I get my mineral intake from my food, like fruits and vegetables
Is good for your car's radiator. That's all I know .
both sides have a good argument. Distilled water is negatively charged and will remove poisons accumulated in your system, but also attract the good stuff, like vitamins and

minerals. The way I figure it is that you can always get some vitamins and minerals back in, but how do you remove the accumulated bad stuff ? My opinion is to drink both and just like everything else in life - moderation is the key to sucess.
Distilled water, as virtually all bottled water, is stored in lo-grade plastic containers. Some are known to leach methyl chloride, a carcinogen, into the water and also give off plastic tastes and odors. Besides glass, consider buying bottles made from Lexan that won't give off any plastic tastes or odors.

The Lexan bottles are the clear plastic ones.
