Yes, water is very good for you. http://www.watercure.com/How good is water therapy.i drink 1.5 ltrs 1st thing in the morning how effective is it in cleansing your body
Your liver will aotomatically deal with what you call 'toxins'.

Your kidneys will automaticaly regulate your body fluid levels; you will feel thirsty when you need more water.

Your friend hasn't a clue what she is talking about - '...it is for life as our body needs water to cleanse us from all sorts of ailments.' is complete nonsense.

Why if you have bothered to go to a doctor for reliable medical advice do you then listen to gossip and unqualified hearsay? Madness. I expect your doctor would be livid if he knew.

Water therapy is quackery.

Look here:
I'm very skeptical about water as the ultimate cleanser. Think about it for a moment--what exactly are all these ';toxins'; that you're supposed to be removing? Where are they stored? In your cells? Floating around free? And how exactly is water, which, chemically speaking is a pretty poor solvent, supposed to remove them?

I agree water is important but I just don't think science supports the idea that we're all toxic waste dumps waiting to be ';cleaned out';. And, remember, you CAN drink too much water.

If you're interested in dealing with your joint pain, I'd suggest that you look into an anti-inflammatory diet and perhaps some of the herbal supplements that can help with some types of arthritis.
hey buddy its good that u have now stopped ur hypertensive drugs that means ur circulatory system is normal so dont worry about fluid retention.

and water drinking 1.5 lts is really good since it increases urine output prevent a lot many diseases and also normalises physiological functions of various functions and normalises metabolite distribution....i recommend u start calcium tabs alongwith kali phos 6X (homoeopathic) that will help maintainance of calcium levels and also water will remove any inflammatory changes that can occur in older age (u r 55) and this is damn important in ur age group ppl. also water is a universal solvent this resolutes any thrombosis and embols in the blood vessels and keeps ur kidneys out of any problems

i had given this same therapy to my grandpa (78 years old) his all skin overgrowth has vanished and BP is totally under control..

Best of luck
can help with kidney problems (esp frequent kidney stones) but that's about it to my knowledge. maybe gout as well. i guess if the problem is uric acid in your joints, YOU MIGHT get a small amount of releif... but im guessing it is probably arthritis of some type taht is causing your joint pains if it is chronic.

LOL @ bronco... your kidneys only filter small molecules and ions, they dont filter bacteria at all unless there is something wrong with. and they dont double a drug's effectiveness, it would flush a lot of drugs out of your system. plus you dont have bacteria in your blood normally and if you did you would be in the hospital with septic shock. you need to be careful around the alternative medicine pushers, most of them dont know anything about the body and rely on gossip, ancient practicies, and superstition. i cant imagine a physician recommended water therapy for congestive heart failure because fluid retention is one of the main factors that causes problems, there are not ';toxins'; involved that it would help ';flush out';

update: oops hadnt seen you were off your blood pressure meds. your body would probably regulate the water out, i doubit it would hurt you but i doubt it would help you much either
Hi I am from India where Ayurveda prevails and it says that you should drink 1.5 -2 litres of water kept overnight in a copper vessel

but water therapy is more than this,

you should:

drink water only after one and half hours of your principal meal and half an hour after your small meal.

it should be taken sip by sip (which helps tremendously in digesting your food) and if you are suffering from cough then you should take one sip of water and then exhale your breath thru mouth.

It should never be drunk before meals-atleast half an hour gap should be there

it flushes out toxins from your body and helps cleanse your bowels. in Ayurveda it says that pain will be there only if wind(Gas) is there

and many more things, which can take good amount of pages here.

Hope this much will satisfy your query
Please, please, please continue on with your water therapy - your friend is right - water will purify you in a way that no other ingested product will - and taken along with carefully prescribed medications will double the effectiveness.

There are two primary concerns when on water therapy: over-hydration can put a strain on your urinary system and actually CAUSE later bladder control problems and/or UTI's, and secondly you can leach some proper bacteria out of your system. My recommendation is that you pay very close attention to what your body is telling you - if you feel overly full of water, slow down. If your urine starts to sting, slow down even more.

Despite all of these cautions, I recommend a well-balanced water therapy.
Personally I would go a slightly different route. Green tea has cleansing properties (among many other benefits). As for the possible hypertension %26amp; arthritic type pain- flax oil. My mother was able to go off her meds by using 1-2 tbl per day. Omega-3 oils have been touted as a remedy for joint pain for quite some time now.
personally I couldn't drink that amount of water and continue with my day, but if you continue with it make sure the water you drink isn't too high in sodium. By the way; I heard magnesium is good for joints and you could also look into glucosamine and hyaluronic acid. Good luck
water is good for you but not all the way but drink more water than that
